I admit that I lost a Mont Blanc several years ago and it hurt, really hurt. I was running late to meet a friend, clipped it to my lanyard and raced a couple of blocks. When I looked down one hour later, it was gone. I tried to retrace my steps, but no luck. I can't help thinking someone else got very lucky. Have you had a similar experience?

I did... but... only for several months. It ended up being in my large suitcase that I don't travel on airplanes with.
I was quite depressed about it, I thought it was gone forever. :crying:

The first MB FP that I ever purchased was a beautiful 144 in black resin with gold furniture. I lost that pen for about 6 months and was heartsick about it. At that time I could not afford to replace it and that pen had traveled into China and Malaysia with me, faithfully chronicling that adventure. One of my first trips abroad.
One day I reached under the seat of our van found it!! It had nestled itself next to the seat mount on the floor where it was almost impossible to see or get to. I still have that pen and love it.
Some pens just have a history that are meaningful to the owner and are irreplaceable. I count myself fortunate to still have my first MB FP and hope someday to pass it down to one of my children along with its history and the journals it has written.

Yes....I have unfortunately has a similar experience....or should I say several :banghead:
Perhaps the most memorable was a not 1 but indeed 2 Mont Blanc pens I purchased on my first trip to Hong Kong. They were a 144 Fountain Pen with just a beautiful nib, and a Mont Blanc roller ball with full tip to toe 18K gold plating or vermeil it was a very rich gold colour the likes I've never seen that before or since. Anyway, I also purchased a Montblanc 2 pen pouch to carry them in.
Some months later I went to court, with them in my top pocket inside the leather MB case. I remember coming out of court talking and bending over to pick up my books. Left court and got back to the office. No pens to be found.
I went back to court twice that day to try to find my pens, asked everyone.........no luck, gone never to be seen again.
There was a group of school children visiting court that day, and I can't help but think they found my pens...............the rest is history. :crying: :crying:

Many years ago, I had a particularly nice Waterman that was given to me as a gift. It wasn't the most expensive pen in the world, but it was my favorite at the time and was my daily pen for several years.
Went to Happy Hour / club hopping in work clothes (suit/tie back then - b4 business casual). Was having a great time, but noticed that the pen was missing while at the 3rd place. Re-traced my steps, but no luck.
Not a huge financial loss, but it sucked just the same. :argh:

I have not lost one but the fear of losing sort of makes me scared to take my nice pens anywhere. I have Du Pont and a MB Meister which I use it only in my office.

Nope, never have (Knock on wood). But I must say before I bought my first nice pen, I hesitated for that very reason. I wondered how I would deal with it if I lost it. I guess that's why I've never lost one... Overly cautious! :dummy:

I got a visual of one of Jocke's repair missions, only on a "MB" instead of a "Rolex". Hmm... vises, blow torches, cutting wheels... :chuckle:
