Mark, it's amazing how great minds think alike. I was just thinking this morning that we should start a thread like this. Great idea. The only problem now is watching JJ go wild with his family pictures. But that's OK. With one exception, it's a beautiful family.  My pics are coming up below.

And here's my two reasons for living, my son and wife. They were out of town for the last 4 days, I've realized what a family man I've become; I used to look forward to some time by myself when my wife left town, but now the instant she's gone I feel depressed and miserable until she and my son get back. They're everything to me.

Yes, yes, it's all true! About two years ago, my hair was thin enough on top that if I let the (incredibly thick) sides grow out I looked like Ben Franklin-not a good look. So, I decided rather than try a comb-over, or Propecia, or any other route, I'd opt for the preemptive break-up. Yes, my hair would no longer be leaving me-I'd be leaving it. Once again I was in charge, sort of. I now buzz it about every third day.

That said, I must say that if I could have a beautiful mane, I would. If I could just donate from my arms. . .

Also of note, when my younger brother came along, he couldn't quite say "Jason." His first name for me? You guessed it: J-J.

Now, my stepfather, there's a guy with some nice hair. . .

Not quite court, really. That was the coast guard facility in Miami we were waiting in until we could board the cruise ship on which my cousin was getting married. There was about a three hour delay, so we were trying to hang out and be as chill as possible.

However, looking at that back wall does bring back thoughts of, "I know you've been sworn and I have read your complaints. . ."

Thanks, man. It just called out to me. Prior to the forum, prior to my reading JJ saying it was an "icon." It was just the one. A lady I'm dating was with me the second time I ever really spent time at a dealer looking at one. She hated it. She couldn't understand why something that cost so much didn't have diamonds on it. I doubt she'll ever understand.

BTW, I'm having an extra link put in mine as well. It's ok on cool days, but when I get hot it's a bit tight.

How about another pic, since this is the "Yearbook?"

Just wanted to post a few pictures of my son Ryan (8). I am so proud of this kid. He races MX and no one can beat him track after track throughout the State of Florida.

Today he had a very, very bad accident with another rider. He escaped with minor injuries that could have been much worse. The other little boy was air-lifted via Life Flight with major head trama. My prays go out to him and his family.

My son Ryan had Angels over him today and I thank the good Lord he is going to be fine. Today was an eye opener for me and to say the least I am all choked up.

Ryan .... this one is for you Champ ! :patriot:

Hey like I said I need to brush back up on my military knowlege. Last year in social studies our teacher was a Vietnam veteran so you can believe we heard our fair share of war stories and everywhere he had been. It is some really fascinating stuff.

Yeah, all that stuff's good for beer sessions, but still, at the end of the day, as Yoda said, "Wars not make on great"! :chuckle:

Great pics, guys! It's about time I threw my two cents in.

Just a few pics over the years:

Ah, the Grampains - a must see every time we make the trip down under. My wife longs to go there in the years in between our trips, since she went there so much as a child. I can't say I blame her - fantastic country!

Great pics!

The Grampians, oddly enough, seem to be overshadowed by the Great Ocean Road. :chuckle:

When's the next time you're in my neck of the woods, Al? It'd be great to catch up!

Too bad I didn't know you better a year ago. We were on a plane heading your way on the 27th of November, 2004. All that flying and the only other WIS I met was some crazy Kiwi......:banghead: It would have been cool to meet you then.

I'm afraid we only make that trip every few years. :thumbsdow The good news is we would not be far away, as my wife's father still lives in Ballarat.

I've done a good portion of the Great Ocean Road as well, but I go back to the Gramps time and time again......

Do you recall a family having several people drown at McKenzie waterfall in the Grampians last December? We were there the day before.......quite sad.

Well, the timing wasn't great back then anyway, because I was stuck in Singapore at the time - I only moved back to Melbourne this March. Let me know the next time you're in town and we'll definitely have to catch up!

I agree.
Mine was a 98 9R. That was the fastest year. Mine was slightly modified and it had 147 rear wheel HP. Yes. A C2. The 9R is probably the best all around bike, and I would not mind owning another one.
The Hayabusa is a pre detuned model. Bought it new May 2000. Only a few hundred in that color scheme were sold in USA, and it's the model that made it into the Guiness Book as the fastest bike ever, with a terminal speed of 203 mph.
Mine is modified a bit and it has 189.3 rear wheel horsepower and it recorded 211 mph with me on it. I used a handheld GPS to obtain the speed.

Thank you for the kind words about Faith.

I knew the Busa had gobs of power and that kind of riding can be a blast under the right circumstances, and even though it makes sense, never thought about it like that. It has to have super soft compound tires so they get real sticky when they get hot. I thought it was alot to change my rear tire at 5000mi. That's only doing a real burnout when I'm on the way to change it. Otherwise it's less than that.

Hmmm, okay, if you say so.........:bullshit:

I figured if using a shotgun gave Dick Cheney an advantage, it should also work for me too. Of course, I'm not hunting quail but I'm sure a shotgun will work for a big turkey just as well......:bartmoon:

I am also quite confident that I will be able to select you as the correct target, instead of confusing you with local wildlife.......seems Dick should have used this handy pocket guide before going out hunting.....

http://img524.imageshack.us/img524/4943/cheneyquailvsperson8bl.jpg (http://imageshack.us)

You should also know that unlike Cheney, I don't plan to drink myslef silly until after the hunting is finished.......

I guess in keeping with the thread, I'll throw in a picture of myself for good measure.......

Here I am shooting at the 2000 Olympic trials held in Toronto.

I would like to say that I was competing for a spot on the shooting line in Sydney, but the truth is I was unable to meet the minimum requirement set out by the Canadian Olympic Committee, which at that time was to "prove" that you were able to finish in the top 16 at the Olympics you were trying for (close, but no cigar as they say). Long story behind these requirements, but in 2000 I took the opportunity to do some shooting on the field for the trials while picturing myself in that competition.......all good mental preparation for the day I do it for real.

The trials were 3 days long, and I was the announcer for those 3 days.

Maybe James can photochop a Robin Hood type hat on Al's head, complete with said feather.

BTW Al, where in TO were the trials?

I rode in the men's Olympic trials road race back in 1992 (for Barcelona) on a bitch of a course in Hamilton (if you know Hamilton mountain, we had to ride up it 26 times or so). Out of a starting field of 150 I managed to finish 12th. I was pretty happy given that I knew I didn't stand a chance at making the team (the first year pros were allowed to ride in the Olympics) and I was hoping to finish in the top 50%.
