Just in case you were wondering how much it would cost to repair an Omega Speedmaster after you (or your kid) enthusiastically pushed the bottom plunger too many times to stop the timing hand, it's $100.:banghead:

done by swatch or independent guy? I know AD gets 40% off service and parts so you can get a cheaper rate if you do your service through an AD than to do it yourself (if they pass along the discount that is)

Just curious, what did they fix for 100 bucks? I heard those chronograph are a bitch to fix.

There was some type of spring/release at the base of the lower pusher that was broken. It fell out when the caseback was opened. $100 was for parts and labor, from an independent service tech. The nice thing is I am a regular, so it was fixed within two weeks.

So he broke the spring/release when he open the caseback and charge you 100 bucks to fix it? :thinking:

Regardless, paying $100 to fix anything on a mechanical watch is pretty cheap, IMO.

Last year I took my wife's TAG Alter Ego for a battery replacement at the AD and it cost $40!!!! and then the bastids said they couldn't guarantee that it's still waterproof. :banghead:

That certainly is a rip off. My daughter's quartz Elesse had a battery replacement PLUS pressure test....all for NZ$35 (about US$24).

I was looking at a receipt for a partial service for an omega aquaterra, last year it was 120 for movement cleaning, replace gaskets, crown / buttons if required.

I had a nick in the crown so it was replaced. all for 120 so maybe your 100 wasn't a bargain IMHO.

Thats was done directly by Omega, via swatch group.
