I wonder how old that watch was? That confirms my suspicion about wearing a watch loose and how bad it is for the bracelet as the heavy watch head swings with each step we take, placing force on the joints on both sides. I have snugged my watches up.

That was an informative article. I presume when the RSC does a complete service of the watch, they check the pressure points on a bracelet and replace worn parts on it.

They don't... they will "recommend" replacing the bracelet in it's whole! If you decline because you feel the bracelet "is fine the way it is" it is YOUR responsiblity if it breaks. RSC very rarely will do a partial fix on a bracelet.

This threat reminded me of the scene in the first "Die Hard" where one of the office's workers becomes, er, separated from his Rolex in a rather dramatic way.
