Got myself an Omega Planet Ocean 42mm. Its from within Canada so no worries about customs and duties.
It's black dial with white markers and black bezel. RogerF got me looking at it again since at first I found it boring in terms of the dial, but the overall design of it is very good.
Plus I also wanted the co-axial movement.
I'll post pix on Thursday.

Good purchase roadcarver - I love the Planet Ocean, and own 2. The orange bezel on orange alligator strap, and just last week bot the Limited edition James Bond "Casino Royale" #1171/5007. It has the orange tipped second hand with orange "007" on the short end of the second hand.
I hope to be more up to speed tech-wise in the near future so I can post a pic. Cheers, Larry.

Excellent buy, Vernon. It's fitted with the very dependable and accurate Co-axial movement and is COSC certified.
You will enjoy that baby!!

Well done roadcarver...that was the one I was seriously considering for my current every day watch...the Sea-Dweller narrowly beat it out as my every day watch.
Hell, "every day watch" is misleading - my "every day ONLY watch that I own" is more appropriate.
A comparative analysis of your 42mm PO versus the SD as an every day watch would be greatly appreciated, as the only thing I went by was a few minutes wearing the PO at the AD; I suppose the familiarity of the pros AND cons of a plain steel Rolex eventually convinced me to stay with them - that & other practical, real world considerations that a Rolex brings to my occasionally specific needs.

Ofelas,
I'll do a review and comparison between the PO and SD once it goes on my wrist.

Sounds good Vernon. So the 15% Canadian taxes are less than importing the watch & paying customs/duties?

Ofelas,
It all depends on the price that is paid. There is a luxury tax especially for watches when they are imported to Canada.
Most of the PO that I saw on TZ were around 1900-2200 USD. The PO that I went for was a gently used one that was bought from an ADD (Ross Simons) with boxes, cards, and stamped by the AD. The purchaser name is open.
The price that I paid for it was 2100 CDN. Hence I save on the exchange rate, plus duties. The customs typicall charge the buyer the duty amount and 14% tax on the duty.

You got a great deal on the PO. I agree that it is a very close rival to the SD, and the two are pretty much interchangeable. Wear it in good health! Larry.

Nice!
I used to have the orange 42mm. Ended up trading it for a Breitling Chrono Avenger.

At 185 grams it's a hunk of a watch!

Hi Ofelas,
Enjoying and liking the PO a lot. The markers are really easy to see at night, and the bracelet like any Seamasters is very comfy. It is a watch that you can feel on your wrist.
I'm waiting for my SD to be back from RSC Toronto so that I can do a side by side comparison.
So far, its been 4 days, and its running +1 sec.
