These watches would fool most buyers so be very careful.

That is quite scary - that is a really well done fake.

I wonder is it just the Black Seal being copied or the Panerai line as a whole?

Ah yes, my buddy from TO, Patrick's review. It is scarey, but I can tell you there are plenty out there, not just Black Seal fakes, that could fool most jewellers, in just about every high-end brand.
Always best to buy from an AD or from someone you trust implicitly.

Quite right, Johnny, but you should also hope that the person you trust implicitly hasn't fallen prey to someone else whom he thought he could trust implicitly...these things have happened in the past.
I trust NO ONE now.....absolutely NO ONE as far as Rollies are concerned. AD is positively the ONLY way to go!!

Seen a TT Rolex blue dial sub about 6 months ago I nearly bought it
it was perfect even the gold tested ok.But something made me take
the bracelet of to check serial. This guy genuinely bought it as 100%
real, but they mixed up the model ref at 6 o clock instead of 12 what
a stupid mistake to make, but it nearly caught me, even had watermark in
the Rolex papers. :thumbsdow

Well, there you have it....a classical example of one good guy trusting another genuinely good guy who thought he could trust someone else.

well I would say that I could spot most Rolex fakes quite easily, but that
one sure fooled me,later he phoned me,he got the back of at a watchmaker
inside a gilded ETA 2824-2T.Well at least they put ETA top range movement
in,but that Rolex TT would have fooled anyone, till you got the back off. :thumbsdow

I'm very happy you gave us all this information, Padi.....let it be a real eye-opener to all of us....you just can't trust even someone you think you can trust.

I swear that even with mine on i could not tell which was fake until i saw the caseback and the close ups. Panerai are so easily faked well that it annoys me.

Come on Toph, you're a Glasgow boy as well, we should be well used to Paneraye and Rolox after a few trips down the Barras :rofl::rofl:

It's a shame and a damn crime when people are being cheated out of their hard earned money! I agree with JJ, trust nobody and have every watch verified by an AD before purchasing! It's the only way to protect your investment and have peace of mind!

To be fair the copies aren't really that great, in half decent pictures they may look similar but in the hand they look and feel totally different, plus there will be no paperwork or box so i can't see anyone getting done out of their money, only ebay has a few of these being passed off as the real thing and they're obvious fakes.
When the fakers start putting together the box and paperwork, and regulating the movements then i'll start to worry, until then i think we're safe enough.
