I am looking at both watches, Bond Edition..the planet ocean is a bigger watch, 45mm compared to 41 mm. Does anyone have an opinion which is nicer looking???

Seamaster over Planet Ocean for me everytime...

It's my feeling that the 007 logo on the watch is merely advertising for the film studio. It does nothing for the value, aesthetics or function of the timepiece itself.

Quite right it does affect the price of course... The PO there is a 007 on the second hand and an engraving on the back of the watch... the SMP has a swirled dial a 007 on the second hand and an engraving on the back of the watch.
Just aesthetic differences over the regular versions of both, movements are the exact same... but if you are a bond fan then you'll pay the premium right?

I actually quite like both because of the differences. Both have many good qualities about them and few that I don't like. Sorry I am no help at all, LOL!

Neither... I'm not a fan of the 007 branded waches ie. 007 on the second hand.

Both standad PO and SMP 2531.80 are great watches. The SMP 2531.80 is a bit more dressier than the PO. The PO is a much heftier watch... unless you have a wrist > 7.5", I won' go for the big size 45mm ver.

The orange highlights on the PO are really attractive while the wave dial on the SMP is elegant.

Either way you can't go wrong.

I love my Bond Smp GMT - matter of fact I dumped the PO for the GMT.

I like them both, but I'd go for the 42 mm Planet Ocean. I think this design will last a lifetime, just like the Submariner.

I would get the planet ocean but on stainless steel without the 007 and larger size.

After having two 2254.50s, two 2531.80 Bond SMPs, a white GMT, and a PO....the only ones I have left are the 2254.50 and 2531.80 Bond. If you can snatch either of those up before they're completely gone and go co-ax, I'd go that route. They are all great watches though. Just my 2 cents.

I'm with Daren on this one :chuckle: The strap gets me on the PO and the red writing on the dial of the SMP is what stands out on it for me.

My favourite is the 2535.80.00. This Seamaster is the quiet achiever, having a co-axial movement and the more traditional Seamaster case. Also has a GMT function. Is is such a nice looking watch.

Planet Ocean is nice in all black.

You can keep the 007 versions. I think it demeans the brand to have it comemorate some Holywood epic IMHO.

Man, tough call! I've had the standard Bond version and the PO.
The Bond was the more comfortable for me, but the POs sword hands and bezel were the more practical.
Accuracy was a wash, both mine were +1. I do think the 42MM size is better for everyday wear.

Like Sam, I finally went with the 2254. The hight, bracelet and gladiator hands work best for me.

Either is a great watch.

I have owned a few Omega watches and I do love Omega (I anm wearing my 2254.5 right now). Make sure that you PO first with a work shirt that you will wear on a daily basis. I found the PO to be a great watch but the bracelet and the raised bezel were just too big for me to get used to.

Planet Ocean, all the way. I prefer the hands and the overall design better...plus that touch of orange is so cool. Is Rolex reading this? THAT'S how you do orange...:chuckle:

I prefer the looks of the PO. It is a classier style

The SMP swirley dial seems a bit tacky and cheapens the overall affect.
