Hi guys,

Thought I'd show off a few more pics of the new Omega Planet Ocean. Got it perfectly resized yesterday (the bracelet) and now it feels very comfortable inspite of the massive heft of 210 grams. Thickness (see 4th pic) is a solid 15.05 mm.

JJ, I can't tell by the picture but, are the adjustable links connected with screws or pins? Talk about head oh, you were were you well, the 5th picture has great color and head on it :)

Not at all weak, Daren, 'cause that's the first thing I checked with David (Mansor) whilst buying the watch. He assured me that the pins were as strong as any screws used by Rolex.

Omega wouldn't be that stupid to use pins which could cause the bracelet to come apart. I've had Omegas in the past and never had a problem with the bracelets.

The only hassel is you cannot DIY. Pain in the butt. Any resizing has to be taken back to a proper jeweller and the other hitch is that the clasp has no holes for those fine adjustments like Rolex does.

In full favour of Omega, I must say that the bracelet has ALL solid links and feels mighty strong. The clasp too is thick and carries a lot of heft. Finish is excellent, I assure you.

JJ, I am shocked that they would not have said that the pins are a pain in the butt and also have a history of bending if not changed perfectly. That is shocking that a dealer no matter how good would say that, not.

I have done the Omega pins, and I will take the Rolex screws, I thank you.

I assure you, Daren, the pins are very, very strong and quite thick. After all, they have to support the weight of a watch which is much, much heavier than even the SD.

JJ have you tried to change the pins yourself yet or just taken it to the dealer and had them do it? Daren, I take it you have tried to remove and insert the pins of an Omega yourself and they bent on you?

No, earl, I have NEVER tried to change those pins 'cause I have neither the right tools, the patience or frankly the knowledge and experience. I would never risk it on my new watch.

The dealer did it for me in less than five minutes.

JJ, I am not bashing the PO just saying that I prefer the screws in the bracelet.

Earl, I have changed Omega bracelets before and have not bent the screws myself, although I have seen my dealers watchmaker do a number on one. :banghead:

curious as to why you guys call this the Orange Monster? I have always known O-M to refer to a Seiko's divers watch.
