Bought a Montblanc Meiterstuck Ball point pen about 6 month ago. Love it. Have carried it with me continually for the last 6 months. Really suprised the ink has not run out yet, for as much as I use it.

What is funny, I hardly ever get comments from others about my Rolex watches, but I get several comments a week for the last 6 months on my Pen. The Balck and Gold is really classy.

One thing was I used to always loose pens, cheap pens that I used. Well, by having an expensive pen I never loose it as I make sure I always have it with me. Plan on getting another Montblanc pen and one or two of their mechanical pencils in the future.

I actually bought this Pen on board the Aircraft (United), from their ON Board Duty Free, while on a Flight to Thailand. Very good price on the Plane!

I have the Starwalker. I like the rubbery feeling of the barrel. It is $360 on the outside but $280 in the .mil sector. They they had a 20% off sale. How could I refuse?

I have two and absolutely love them. I use my rollerball (larger pen) on a daily basis. I use the fountain pen just enough to keep it from drying out. Here's a pic I took w/ my old SD.

You know in a lot of ways, Pens are like Mechanical Watches. Back to the classic old days, when people used to write all the time. Just lke Watches are being replaced by digital watches, and people getting their time off their Mobile phones; not so many write any more today. We use email, blackberries, laptops, etc. instead.

Use to really be the art of penmanship. Writing letters to loved ones. Writing in a journal. Taking notes. One ofthe reasons I still use my Franklin Planner and Montblanc on a daily basis.

Another thing I find interesting... People laugh when they see that I spent a few hundred $ on a pen. But what they don't realize is that In the same time I've owned my Montblancs they've burned trough HUNDREDS of their cheapo pens.:lol::cheers::cheers:

And the same goes for Rolex watches!

I use a good ole Cross. Inexpensive enough so if I lose it, I'm not out much; however, expensive enough so that I try not to lose it. It rides in my wallet/checkbook that I carry daily and I always use it when signing receipts. I think I'm becoming more of a germophope the older I get.

I miss pennmanship also. I used to draft in college, but started a healthy dislike when we transitioned to computers. CAD is fine, IMO, when manufacturing, but the older hand drawings seemed to have a warmer touch, even when it came to machine parts. Somehow. At least I came away with clean handwriting... Those pens are very sharp, BTW! My AD has a nice display, I'm afraid you're all gonna infect me with the MontBlanc disease!!!

Sure..

When I was working and travelled to DC a lot for meetings, it was part of the uniform.

Black or navy wool suit, light color shirt, proper tie (here's where you could express yourself), Rolex and Mont Blanc pen in the pocket...

If you weren't in the proper uniform, nobody paid you the proper respect...:chuckle:

I'd love to try a 149 one day. My daily use pens are a Lamy 2000 fountain pen and a Lamy Dialog2 roller ball.

I have sold EVERY montblanc because I have gone totatlly Wireless. It seems there are unecessary fees for paper transactions these days. Here are some of the pens I owned. I was soaked up in the hype of the Montblanc and was let down when I felt the weight. I ran across this Gothic Dragon Pen and fell in love. I sold it too.

I would love to get a Montblanc, but I don't think that I would get any use out of it. The only time I write these days is short notes on what needs to be done at a client or balancing my checkbook.

Not to mention I'm a fine point person since my penmanship is so tiny, that I'm not sure a Montblanc would be a good fit.

I have four Montblancs --- two fountain pens and two ball points. I used to love writing letters/notes with fountain pens. You can always tell the difference but expediency let me drift away. About a year ago I had my fountain pens cleaned @ Montblanc svc. ctr. and began using them again. Even a brief note has an air of respect and elegance that only a good "hand" can show. Your handwriting displays so much more emotion than an email. Of course, both have their place. Love fine pens.

This will be my next MB. I have a coworker who uses a 149 on a daily basis... he's had it for more than a dozen years! It's a heck of a pen.

Hmmm, I admit I don't know much about pens, but my in-laws just gifted my hubby with a Mont Blanc Anniversary Edition...

The one with a small diamond in the shape of the MB logo that 'floats' on the top of the cap. Quite neat. Pity he's not a pen guy either (it's now sitting in a drawer!):dummy::thinking:

He actually wouldn't mind I'm sure...but I'm bad - I already suggested we sell it and put the proceeds towards a Rolex (yes, for him this time!) :naughty:

I had a ballpoint Mont Blanc in High School. It left it in the sleeve pocket of a flight suit in the Army, and it never came back from the laundry.

I'm considering a Montblanc, but I can't seem to decide on which one.

MEISTERSTÜCK PLATINUM or the STARWALKER COOL BLUE.

It will be the fine ballpoint version since my penmanship is too small for the fountain pen or rollerball.

Well, I ended up purchasing the Cool Blue Starwalker rollerball and it's quite a beauty. I'll take some photos later.

Can anyone recommend a good pen pouch? The Montblanc pouches are nice, but I don't feel like spending another $100 after spending $400.

I will attest that the MB 149 is the best to get. If you have the change get a LeGrande thats like the Submariner IMHO of the pen world. The black resin classique is like a Rolex DJ IMHO

I had a fountain pen and a gold rollerball in a Montblanc leather carry case. It got lost :crying: Now I always use the pen clip to clip the pen inside my top pocket.
The 146 LeGrand fountain pen with double broad oblique is just right for me, and green ink.

A pen is as necessary as a watch.

Whether you are the Bic type or like something with a bit more savoir-faire, they are not going away anytime soon.

This Mont Blanc has been my daily for several years.

It's with a couple of Colibri's and a pair of 70 year old Sheaffers, my Grandfathers daily pens.

I have 2 Mont Blanc ball points, one black and one in what was called "Bordeaux" basicall a light burgundy color which may be discontinued now. I also have what MB calls a "Document Marker", a fancy name for a hi-liter. I use it quite a bit though. What would be nice is if I could convert it to a fountain pen but I don't think I can, don't have much use for one anyway but would like to have one.

Years ago liked Mont Blanc....still have a monster Meisterstuck....like that Beast that you see on the Hitler channel when he is signing things with his shaven headed crazy partners in psychosis. Then I found a better German product....Pelikan. I have 2 Pelikan fountan pens, and they are wonderful. Piston filled with great action and suction. Great nib. Light and wonderful to write with. I still use the Hitler pen for signing giant contracts and when I wish to be melodramatic or scare clients away. LOL
