The recent attack by a troll got me thinking about our forum rules. I tried to find somewhere where these are published and couldn't. Do you think it's a good idea to have published prominently the standards that are regarded as acceptable? If these are already accessible, please point me in the right direction.

I'm not sure we have a stated set of rules, Adrian. I don't recall seeing any. But you're right. We should have some.

Hmmmm your right there are no rules, rules could or might be good at this point in time due to the past events which in my opinion disrupted the forum.

Discussions are going to happen and they are going to get heated at times I know this. (as long as they are kept generic)

Differences of opinions are good as long as they provide substance and not start or tail off into name calling at any level in public forum.

What happens in PM is not my concern accept; if the 2 parties are locked horns in PM and it spills over into public forum in over tones of berating, belittling, condescending, all them thingys.

Mods will edit those posts and leave a massage in its place something like deleted for the good of the forum or not conducive to good forum protocol.

just my 2 cents

Valid point, Adrian, but....hey.....with guys like us, and the love and understanding we share.....rules hardly matter. It's the bloody trolls we have to watch out for.

In all these months this forum has been active, none of us regulars have ever had a 'tiff' or had anything negative to say about one another. Just goes to show that where there's so much love, there's total harmony!!

JJ:thumbsup:

It's not us I'm thinking about JJ but a new member who innocently posts something that he or she may think is OK and others don't. I think we should have some guidelines as to what is and is not acceptable.

Registration is disabled and the rules dissapear with the link to register. We do have a set of rules and everyone checked a box agreeing to them to be here.

I knew I saw it somewhere in the past. As long it is there when we join, that is all we need to have.
