It seems like a fair and reasonable price. It also seems like the condition is good to from what you have described. A white dial is also one of my favorite options on the Day Date models.

Does the watch have the papers with it? Be very careful about that. I would try to examine the watch in person first before going on with the deal, especially if it doesnt have the papers. Good luck!

It has papers and hope the price is reasonable.
As the watch has been polished, I was careful that all stampings are still visible. However, I couldn't see clearly the hallmark.. is it supposed to be a centurion or a dog: dummy:

Mine has 7 screws I believe thats 23 links.
Bring a 10x loupe. You'll see things not visible to the naked eye.
Look for pitting at the hands and dial and overall condition of the case and bracelet (nothing rounded that should be sharp) dings, dents and deep scratches. I would have the watch opened to verify the movement and its condition just to be safe.

I would also budget a trip to the RSC to have it brought back to "as new" condition. $100.00-$150.00 for your box and missing schwag.....

$8350.00 sounds very reasonable, I would do it! For around $9100.00 you'll end up with a VERY nice watch that if you bought brand new today would cost you $22,000.00 retail:thumbsup:

It is a good idea to send to an RSC to have it polished. It will look like new.

There are 2 watches , a 1996 and 1998 model but the gold is in different shades. The 1996 seems to be a little redder. any explanation...

My YGDD has 24 links which I needed to fit perfect so I didn't need any taken out. There are 7 screws.

Don't be afraid to have it checked out at an AD BEFORE you buy it. Make sure it is authentic before you fork over the dough. :read: :thumbsup:

I think the 18K president bracelet is almost worth as much as the watch head on a Day-Date.

Noticed a 1996 model 18238 bracelet is more yellow than the 1998 model i was eyeing. The 1998 model's strap is very much lighter in color and pleasing,.. could it be rose gold or the gold changed to lighter color after aggressive polising... pl help

Gold will oxidize or tarnish over time. It's not as noticible as silver, but it is the same reaction. Gold can also be "mixed" to achieve a slightly different shade, although I believe that Rolex is pretty consistent in their color matching.

If a gold watch has not been buffed for a while, it will appear darker than a freshly buffed piece.

Rose gold is distinctly more pink in color than yellow gold.. There won't be any difficulty telling the difference..
