can't believe the price that i saw. check attached link. anyone of you bought a rolex from ebay?

i am afraid of fake. and sometimes the price is too good to be truth.

any susgestion?

I bought my explorer II from them. Took it to an AD right after I got it and it is 100% genuine.

I might also add that anywhere but Rolex (such as a service center) can not assure you of authentication.

Other venues can make you feel much better, but it isn't the same thing.

One seller with PERFECT and substantial feedback indicates all watches are serviced before shipping. They sent me a Rolex with a fake band and sheared internal parts from lack of lubrication.

A second seller with SUPERB feedback sold me a "Rolex" he purchased from another eBay Rolex seller at wholesale. The seller he purchased the watch from (in order to sell it to me at a mark up) is a major major major seller on EBay. That watch was fake, too.

Yet another seller that takes non-Rolex in trade promises a watchmaker inspects all watches before listing.

I sent him a watch in trade and they listed it on Ebay with the wrong movement (they obviously never opened the case before listing).

I'm with you Ed. But you really got to do your homework.:read: I enjoy the hunt and will investigate till I feel comfortable or scared to death. You can find the real deal but it takes more effort.

Normally, I would agree with you and Bo, Larry. However, with the watches I've bought, I've saved upwards of $5K-7K and more. But like Dan, I did my homework first. I don't recommend this for a first timer.

Really?

I won't argue that there are crooks selling counterfeit products on eBay, or taking your money and sending nothing at all, but there are also many honest sellers who list genuine products.

Look at the "crappy stuff" below. Every one came from eBay, and every one has been authenticated.

I must agree with Al - E-Bays not all bad.
If you do your homework and 'Buy the Seller' before the item and more importantly use common sense.

If unsure - ask for help.
I'd gladly help any member of this forum with a seller or purchase in the U.K. :thumbsup:

have not sold nor bought on ebay...and when it comes to Rolex watches, that will never happen. Best option is AD or trusted grey market. Let me define 'trusted': this is someone i have known for many many years, watching him do deals, and bringing his customers back exactly what they want, as represented and standing behind those deals. i also must say, that through my particular 'grey market' dealer, i've met people with whom he deals; they all go to watch shows, large and small around the u.s. and then sell in sometimes pretty large quantities to other dealers and to private collectors.
so these guys are a known quantity to me. however, i would never, ever buy a rolex watch from someone i didn't know personally for a long time. So AD's or 'trusted'(as defined right here)grey market seller. cause dem are large bucks flowin for dos beoootiful rolexes, and i wants em to be REAL. for sure.:thumbsup::smokin:
