Montblanc Price Increase

My darling girlfriend just got me some silver/blue mother of pearl Montblanc cuff links for my 40th birthday. Feel even better now I know she beat the price increase.

My friend got the last pair of the Montblanc diamond anniversary cufflinks in Dallas for her husband beating the $125 price increase on them.

I like some of their watches, but I'm not sure about their quality compare to the better know companies.

Is there a classic Montblanc "equivalent" to the classic Rolex 16610 Sub Date?

If I purchase a Montblanc, I'd like to have the classic -- as I did when purchasing my Sub Date.

FYI, I am not interested in a fountain pen, but something I can actually use every day.

Also, is there an online retailer you recommend or does Montblanc have a no internet-based AD policy like Rolex?

I'm far from a Montblanc expert, be it watch or pen, but they do have a sport collection. The one closest to the 16610 would be the Montblanc Sport Large Automatic 03275.

I'm not a fountain pen person either, but I bought the Starwalker cool blue rollerball and I love it to the point that I try to use it everyday.

I don't know if they have on-line ADs, but I know sites like Alan Furman sells them.

There are many choices for a Rolex equalivant. If you like stainlees on your watch, then you would like the platinum plated trim on your pen. I would suggest a steel and rubber Starwalker Ball Pen or Fineliner/Rollerball or the Starwalker Doue.

Also as far as internet pricing, it is aginst Montblanc's internet policies to sell by showing list prices or discounts over the internet. You can show images and say you are an authorized dealer , but no pricing.

As a dealer, I will tell you be real carefull if you are buying from a non authorized MB dealer. Like Rolex, it is one of the most copied pens in the world.I have people all the time come in for refills and have fakes that the refill will not fit.:thumbsdow

That is a great choice, I forgot to mention the Legrand when I was posting. You will be very happy with that pen. It is much more substantial than the regular classique, and you do not see the Legrands in everyone's pocket like the other as well.

It seems like everyone has the classique. That was my reason on not getting one. I'm sure that they are great and never will go out of style, but I always prefer to be just a little different. The writer's series are the ones that really catches my eyes. Too bad fountain pens don't go with my style of writing.
