Hello, I just purchased a model 7928 rose dial Tudor sub. Does anyone know where I can take it or who would help me get it authenticated? I live near Philly PA. Thank you.

Wow, so you went for it, did you? Very good decision!

And you ended up with paying the US 1,600 only??

Anyway, any AD would be able to authenticate it, but the charge is normally US $ 150.

And where to get it serviced? Well, that's a bit tough, since RSC might not want to service it. But have a try.

RSC San Francisco is reported to sometimes be more reasonable talking with, and "they" might be able to service it.

Alternatively, there are skilled watch makers (non Rolex) that should be able to do service on it. Mike can give you some further information about those watch makers, I believe.

Oh, and congrats!

Congrats on the Tudor. Great watches. Not sure that bracelet is original or even the same era as the watch. There are Tudor experts here and I hope they can shed some light.

Thank you SD. I look forward to any imput from you all. I called a few AD's and they said that they could not take the back off and authenticate. I would hate to have to drive up to NYC (180 miles round trip) to get a blessing. Any help would be apprieicated. Mark

Mark,
Got a local watchmaker closeby? Ask around. You might have one closer than you think.
Good luck and keep is posted,

Dan, you have a point there. The bracelet has SEL and the underside of the endlinks don't look like Rolex. Still, awesome watch!

Agreed. If it's a genuine Rolex bracelet it's worth a few buck by itself. And the watch itself is well worth the investigation.

Guys, are you saying the band is fake? Looks like a Rolex insignia on the band.

Not necessarily. Can't tell from the pics. Lot's of very good looking fakes out there unfortunately.

My dilema is the lady I purchased it from dosent want it to leave her store. She runs an Ebay drop store and the owner just asked her to sell it. On her Ebay listing she states that it can be returned within 10 days but now she tells me this. I don't think she is going to want to travel to meet me at a watch place; I found a guy in Philly that will open it, he has an ebay store. She should have to abide by her listing so we will learn more tomorrow. Thanks again for your quick replies:)

Thank you BUT. I went to a jewler today and they opened the back. It says 30 jewles on the rotor and 25 on the movment. Can someone send me their email address so you can look at these pics? They are too large to post here. Also, does this model come with a 25 jewel movment? Maybe someone just replaced the rotor because the movement looks great. Please reply asap as I have to let the seller know what my intentions are. Thank you!

I believe most (if not all) of tudor sub 7928 equipped with A390 calibre. After the 7928, its successor 7016/0 equipped with ETA movement. Therefore, there is possibility in the transition period between 7928 and 7016/0 used either these two types of calibre.

For the serial no. of these 2 models, 7928 started at around 300K til 600K serial then followed by 7016/0.

You may want to cross check the serial no. and also the calibre no. of this 7928.

Well, that looks like things may have been done between ownerships. Some people like vintage old looking dials while others want to freshen things up a bit. I have a project that I have been working on. Take a look. I am missing a bezel press and order one to complete installation. My watch has a 1570 rolex movement, with aftermarket dial. I am not sure of that rotor on you tudor sub. It could be an eta asian designed version.
