You fellas must have heard the sad new of that guy from "Brokeback Mountain", Heath Ledger, who killed himself today.

He was only 28. Tragic way to go for one so young.

Well, we don't know that he committed suicide.

He was very good actor, one of the best young actors in Hollywood.

Truly tragic, as he had a baby daughter too.

It's not certain that he killed himself. What a shame though, very tragic. So young, full of life ended so abruptly.

I never saw Brokeback but have seen Patriot, Brothers Grimm and a few others. He was excellent in all of them.

Well, according to the apwire he was found dead in bed with a bottle of sleeping pills next to him--sounds like suicide although I suppose it could be accidental. Very sad. It's really going to make seeing the next Batman movie, which I was REALLY looking forward to, very eerie. I remember this same thing happening with Brandon Lee, Bruce Lee's son, when he died and then the movie he had worked on was released after his death. Rest in peace.

Trying to be optimistic and hoping it was accidental (although that is a bit scary in itself) - but it doesn't look good. Very sad, especially for his daughter. :thumbsdow

Amazing how people leap to a conclusion with little knowledge and absolutely no first hand information. The "news" services want you to think suicide to keep you riveted and reading. No note. No history of recent depression or problem as recalled by people who actually knew him. Can you imagine if you or your family were faced with this type of tragedy and immediately everyone wants to assume the worst? I can personally.

At this point, no one knows what drugs were in his system, allergic interactions that might have occured or anything related to this sad death. The possibility of suicide at this point is little more than morbid speculation.

An example from our fine media that feel it necessary to mention an additional disparaging piece of information during this families tragedy. I'd be surprised his father also little more to offer than "a great talent" about the death of his son.

AP release
Williams' father, Larry, a prominent stock trader fighting extradition to the United States on tax evasion charges, remembered Ledger as "a great talent."

One of the info that I've read was that he didn't get much sleep after filming the Dark Knight. Apparently, he only had about 1 - 2 hrs of sleep.

After filming the movie, his mind was still so active about the Joker being a terrilbe character (psychopath) and I'm wondering if the lack of sleep caused him undue stress.

It doesn't matter how he died. The fact is, a talented young man, a father with a young daughter and his whole life ahead of him, has died under tragic circumstances. It's terrible under any circumstances.

I say this with a heavy heart because my brother-in-law committed suicide just three weeks ago. My family is devastated. My wife and I both shed a tear when we heard the news. Our hearts go out to his family.
