"JJ" stands for a gentleman from the very "first inception " of this forum whose enthusiasm for the brand but more importantly whose genuine friendly , good natured soul without any agenda was always at the forefront

I seem to remember JJ having written that JJ is a short name for a rather complicated Indian name. Difficult to pronounce and spell.

I've explained this before, but here goes.....for the benefit of one and all!! :dummy:

The first "J" is my real name - Jehangir - which in Persian means "Light"!! Same name as the former Squash world champ, Jehangir Khan.

The second "J" was my dad's name - Jal. Back home, we always put the father's name in between the first name and surname.....but since I never did like my own name, I just used my initials - J.J. Irani - which I slowly converted to JJ (without the stops)....and the rest, as they say, is history!!! :agree::agree:

The irony is that the only time you hear it around the Irani household is when Zemina gets wind of yet another flipped Rolex and goes, "Jehan-GIIIIIIIR!". :dummy::chuckle:
