How to start my first review?
By apologizing you for my...well,NOT perfect English.
Why starting with Seiko?Because it`s one of the world`s best known and most popular watch brands and because some people still thinks of it as of low-rent substitutions for expensive (Swiss Made) watches.
I`ll try to prove my point that the`re wrong, that Seiko is capable to make wonderful watches positioned in mid-price range.
As longtime owner of many Seiko models(both quartz and automatic) I could assure you that almost every model that I own is very functional and accurate, but there is one model that getting most of my wrist time lately.
That`s my (almost) new Seiko Premier Kinetic Perpetual Auto Relay.
Let`s start with it`s CASE!
I wanted to buy SS model, but the gold plated one instantly drove my attention!I try it on couple of times and what can I say...it`s almost perfect!Finish of it`s case is fantastic, and color combination is wonderful.I don`t like gold plated stuff, that always look cheap to me,but on this model it`s perfectly fitted with rest of the case in standard color of SS.The size of the case is 40 mm,which is within today`s standards for men`s watches.
Then,we`re movin up to it`s DIAL!
And what a dial it is!I have a thing for white dialed watches,so I knew that I`ll picked up the white one. What I didn`t know is that white dial will fit so good with gold plated hands, lovely Roman numerals and date and 24 time subdials.I forgot to mention that the dial of this watch is HUGE,which makes it very readable, right?
Wrong! That`s the only fault of it`s beautiful dial. And it`s not lumed at all, which is a shame, cos` it could be very useful sometimes.
The dial is equipped with date,month,24 time and leap year indicators and is covered with scratch resistant sapphire chrystal glass.
And what about it`s BRACELET?
I bought it with (also gold platted) bracelet...and I didn`t liked it!
After wearing Explorer II with it`s solid and heavy Oyster bracelet, this one just didn`t appeal to me.It`s quite solid, but the rest of the watch has MUCH better finish than it.So,I changed it,with original Seiko`s Croco strap. And that was a real deal! With black croco strap it looks more distinguished than ever before,it`s comfortable and very classy.
But,most of you will like this watch because of it`s MOVEMENT!
And that`s a real masterpiece of modern craftmanship! It`s basicaly quartz movement, but(like all kinetic movements) with rechargeable battery charged by rotor(like all automatics),who generates the power made by movements of your wrist. What is really interesting is it`s Auto Relay function, which allows you to NOT wear this watch for few YEARS and, when you put it on your wrist again,he`ll start it`s self-winding process. So,you`ll wind this watch only ONCE,the day you buy it!It`s perpetual calendar is setted to recognize odd dates and leap years,so it don`t need to be adjusted until the year 2100.

And what is the CONCLUSION?
Seiko tried to make something different than it`s compettitors in mid-price segment and they did it well!
That`s perfect watch for all of you Seiko lovers who finds Spring Drive too expensive and don`t have any prejudice about quartz watches.
I`m free to say that for this amount of money(below 1000$),you can`t have more unusual watch that still looks very ellegant and classy.
