View Full Version : Is an Oyster Bracelet known for comfort?

I find the Oyster Bracelet on my 16610 to be ridiculously comfortable. The old style clasp kind of digs into my skin a bit, but the bracelet just kinda disappears on the wrist, it just feels so natural.

I'm curious, is this just a subjective thing that I find comfortable, or are Oyster Bracelets generally designed and known for being comfortable to wear?

I've got two on Oysters and they are like you said very natural and transparent feeling.

On the heavier models, the Oyster feels better to me. On the lighter ones, like vintage models, I like the Jubilee better - or a strap.

A lot depends upon wrist size and how tight/loose you wear the bracelet methinks...

I don't think that Oysters are particularly comfortable when new, but they will 'wear in' after a while. They are best after their first refinish - square edges 'broken' just a little, etc.

The Oyster is very comfortable, but I think that the Super Jubilee and President bracelets are even more comfortable.

Never tried the president, but prefer oyster over jubilee. Yes, very comfortable compared to my other brands (Omega/Breitling).

Yes.....especially the old ones with non-SELs & the tinfoil clasps!
The jubilee ones pull at whats left of my wrist hairs!!!!

Both comfortable but other way round...jubilee by far the most comfortable bracelet. In hot climates Jubilee better too as does not make your wrist sweat.
i have 5 oysters and one jubilee so ....just sayin'

the oyster bracelet is very very comfortable, at least for me. It did take some time for me to get that perfect fit though, in terms of taking off links, playing with the adjustments..

I think the Super Jubilee is very comfortable.

Of course, the Oyster is, too.

Switching between them is always refreshing for some reason.

I may be part of a minority but I think the old tuna cans are more comfortable than the new style bracelets.

mmm Oyster. Yep love it. Never pulls the hair out of my arm like my Seiko band does... always funny when you yell OUCH! when moving your arm and everyone looks at you. "Oh just my watch band... not wearing the Oyster today" lol should put that damn Seiko 5 on a leather band and call it a day. It hurts!

My Oyster is very comfortable. A President is on my grail list, so I look forward to seeing if the heavier YG watch feels good with that bracelet. If not, then a leather band is always an option.

I've worn my Oyster for several decades, since it was new, and I've been pleased with its durability and it's comfortable to wear.

I enjoy wearing the Oyster. The super jubilee didn't really have a good fit for my wrist. It was either too big or too small. Now I have the glidelock clasp and I just adjust it a little too much.

New or old, Rolex bracelets are the most comfortable I've used. Among other things the taper used melts into your wrist.

Oysters are very comfortable, but I feel the Jubilee is even more so.
