View Full Version : My ultimate decision on LV

I have struggle a lot...
I have spent lots of months thinking of the further of my Sub LV.
I like the Audemars Piguet RO too much indeed now. I find the RO fits my daily work a little bit better. I am not a diver and will never dive more than 5m in a swimming pool. I recently cannot own too many watches. Hence, I will try to flip my Sub to a AP RO about some months of saving..... Sad for me and LV.

What do you guys and girls think? [cry...]

You have to do what makes you happiest! Good luck.

I love watches an would hate to be top-heavy in any one brand as there are so many that catch my attention. I can only afford so many. How many Rolex watches do you own? Adding an AP to your stable would give you a well rounded collection. You have a JLC also? What other brands do you own?

The key is to do what is going to make you happiest. I have a TT GMT IIc and a SS Date Submariner and a Tag Heuer Kirium Chronometer and a RGM Chronograph. I look at my collection as being well rounded. I would like to add a GO or a Lange to it as well.

Decisions - half the fun.

It is difficult for me to keep the LV if I go for the AP. I have sold all my earlier Rolex-watches and lately got the LV. My JLC is from 60s - old and nice. I dont wear it much since it is not so hardy and versatile as the lv.

Lovely AP!

At the end of the day, only you can decide. Still, I'd keep the LV, if you ask me.

I don't really like the LV Sub, but I would not part with it for the watch you propose. Having said that, doesn't really matter what I want or think...it's what makes you happy.
best,

The AP RO is an iconic timepiece and comes with a very nice JLC movement.

I like the shape a lot, but it doesn't ride well on my wrist, so I passed on it a few years ago. But if it works for you, then kudos. The LV isn't my cup of tea as I'm not a fan of green tea... :twit:

I know what you are saying, but I would probably sell the LV since its bothering you. Maybe the Green does not mesh well with you. I have gotten rid of watches because of dial color or the fact it was just not doing it for me.

Ro all the way. I am in the process of selling my LV and PAM111 for an AP ROO.

Can't you just have both? They are both great watches anyway!

I had both for a while!

However, the LV is now exchanged to a classic Datejust.

Bothe are very nice. Love the Rolex steel and its solid build, but I also love the the AP movement, detalis etc...

go with your gut. my grail watch was the IWC ingenieur and i had to get it before the Sub LV and SD. like the AP, i like the more rugged styling of the INgenieur. but i do plan on adding those Rollies to my collection as well in the very near future....

What ever makes you happy go for it....but if you will ask me..Ill stick with the LV if the AP RO you comparing is that one...there are a lot of ver beautiful AP's out there..but might be very very expensive...

I love the LV. I know AP makes a top watch but this one does nothing for me too be honest. The LV is a much sharper looking watch to me.

Being a Rolex fan, I'd say-LV.....However, RO is very very nice, besides, you can always sell it in a flash and get an LV if you get tired of AP.just my thoughts

RO!

Definitely pick the watch that makes you smile and proud. The AP's are gorgeous but upkeep can get a little expensive from what I hear. Rolex's are more reasonable...but don't get me wrong...I probably would buy an AP someday as well.

Wow! I'm facing the same exact dilemma (green sub Z-serial) except I'm also open to trading for a daytona OR the RO....

My kermit is flashy but it brings me joy...I always vowed to keep a sub or a seadweller in my possession, but if I see a good RO/Daytona example, I may just pull the trigger.
