Both pix are VERY cool.
I've done some lightning shots. Basically put it on a tripod, opened the shutter and hoped to get some electifying results. Sadly all I got was sheet lightning. The bolts had done their business and moved on. :bawling:

I am still using old fashion film, but digital should be about the same load your camera with ASA 100 film Go somewhere really dark where lightning is happening, preferably at a safe distance Put the camera on a tripod this is a must and compose your picture Preferably Attach a locking cable release
then Set your focus to infinity Set the f/stop to f/8 or f/11 I like f/8 myself
Set the shutter speed to Bulb Open the shutter for a while. Depending on how
bright the area is, a while might be 15 seconds to a couple of minutes. A good compromise is 1- 2 minutes or until lightning happens, whichever comes first.Lens any good 24mm 28mm or a zoom with a W/Angle will do Repeat as necessary You might want to keep track of what you do,and compare the results to what you expect, and adjust accordingly. It's still a good idea to take a few shots to get the right combination then write it down don't be afraid to experiment!,but with digital you can see results instantly and adjust
accordingly.

Like all things in life, there are risks, but when you get to my age,you just don't worry anymore life too short.Anyhow a nice charge of electricity, might
put a bit of lead in my pencil, if you know what I mean. :chuckle: :chuckle:
