Sea Dweller with no engaving

Hi i'm quiet new here, in less than a month as trf member i learned a lot on watches and of course the time piece we adore . . . ROLEX .....

Few weeks ago I bought an SD D-serial(pre-owned by a friend). What interests me is the absence of "ROLEX OYSTER Original Gas Escape Valve" on the caseback. I showed and talked to the manager of an authorized dealer and was told that there are units that came out without it. :thinking::thinking:

Now, is there somebody out there who has one like mine? Please fellows enlighten me . . . . thanks
