Greetings all,

I am looking at a very nice Pan 111 that a freind of minehas for sale. I have done some research on the brand and this seems to be a lower end model and a good starter...maybe?

What is a fair price for one of these used and new? It has the ss band and it looks to be in very good shape. No box and papers though, but you can see the movement in the cyrstal back and it looks legit.
So what should I spend on this? He is asking for $4000-$5000. Is there another Pan that any of you would suggest be beter for someone just starting to collect? I have really fallen in love with these beauties! :banghead:

Thanx again for any and all suggestions...

Thats a great watch, good luck with getting it  Sorry, I can't help with pricing, but John (Launch Mini) just got one recently and Daren (Dman) is the resident Panny expert. I'm sure they'll be around soon to help out

Price seems a bit high.
The US Price for a PAM 111 is only $3900 BNIB.
The problem with PAM is the supply is so low. If it's one you really want, then is price in your range.
I picked up a PAM113 for about $3800 usd.
And am looking at a PAM25 for around $4,900 ( titatium submersible)

Good luck

John, Isn't $3900 the price for the watch with a strap? I think it's more on an SS bracelet, but really, I'm not sure. I was hoping one of you guys would know

Hi Ren,

Nice to have you back on TRF after quite a while that you've been away. The price your friend is asking seems to be over quite a wide range of $4000 ~ $5000 isn't it? Just wait for Daren to log on - he would be probably your best bet to inform you the best price.

I got my prices from a US Price list.
When the watch comes on a bracelet, the spacing is off to switch to stock straps, so they have different model numbers for bracelet & strap Pannies.:banghead:
The PAM111 is the same as my 113, but black instead of white.
Comes with one leather strap & one rubber, and a screwdriver.

I am only talking about US prices here, but without box and papers that price seems high. I have seen them in the $2850-$3000 range. If you are looking in your local area, check out Panereh.com and post a WTB. There are a ton of Canucks on there as it is a Canadian site.

The 111 is a great choice as a classic Panerai, that or the 112 are as "Panerai" as they come.

Ren, good to see you back around here, please stop by more often. As for the Panerai, I personally love 'em and the only problem I see with them is that I don't want to wear any others.

Best of luck in the hunt. If I can help you at all, please don't hesitate to PM me.

Hey Daren,

Could you please give me your oppinion about the PAM 088, US list price and the real price you think my brother can get one for him?
Thanks in advance!

PAM 88 , US List price was $5,000.
Again, my experience BNIB, not much of a discount.
Also at www.paneristi.com there is a "collectors market" with some used prices.
PAM 88 is popular, but one I would not want, just MHO.

Hi,

I just sold a PAM111 for $3,400 and it was in perfect condition with boxes and papers, straps, all the goodies included. I was actually very happy to get this price for it, because it seems like most 111's go for around $3k.

Good luck, and great pick. Take a look at the 112 as well. I actually replaced the 111 with the 112 and like it much more.

You know what they say about opinions being like arseholes, but I have one on the 88. I love everything about it!! It is not a typical Panerai by any means, but I am nuts over that dial. I love the subdial being in a different color and I have always liked GMT watches.

I am pretty much hook line and sinker over this one, as well as most Pannies. The List is around $5K and discounts are very rare, especially since they only produce in the mid thirty thousand watches a year. Alot of times if you ask, you can get an extra strap thrown in on top of your purchase though. I would go to paneristi and run some comps in a search on the 88, I think they are between $3.9K up to $4.5 or so.

Here are just a few of the options with this baby! You can dress it up, or make it ready for play time.

Those picture do the watch proper justice.
I don't travel much so the GMT function doesn't do anything for me. Same goes for the GMT Rollies, They are nice watches, but just not for me.
I prefer the Pan GMT over the Rollies ( sorry Rollie guys) but there is something about that BIG arrow over a red hand:dummy:

Sorry, John, but it's that red 24 hour hand that makes the Rolex GMT IMO. I like the PAM GMT, but of the two, I prefer the Rolex because of the red hand.

No problems at all. If we all had the same tastes, there would only be one watch, one car, Vanilla ice cream.....
If you check my posts, I have mentioned a Pepsi would be a nice addition.
Just not right now.

Hey Kingblackbolt. Do you know what series the 111 is that this guy has for sale? Since you're in T'ronna, I assume the price you quote is in Canadian dollars. I know you can get a BNIB 111 at RDV on Bloor for about $5,500-6000 all in, depending on your negotiating skills.

So keep in mind the watch's series (age) and factor that in to the equation. Further, as mentioned, you can get an H-series (sandwich dial) 111 in the US for about US$3,500... but then you have to get it into Canada without customs finding out... which isn't impossible but getting the boxes over the border can be a challenge. But you'll save CDN$1500 at least.

I don't think a price between CDN$4 and 5K for a 111 is out of line for Canadian prices, but I'd try to low-ball him, on price, knowing you can easily get one in the US for CDN$4,000 for a LNIB model and work down from there.

Good luck! IMHO the 111 is the ultimate Panerai.

That's a tough call. Personally, I like the 112. I just like the clean look of the 3,6,9 dial. Not that I dislike the 111 with the second hand subdial at the 9 position. That's sweet too.

Yes, we pay high taxes and import taxes/duties are stoopidly high too.
