I printed some of my pics the other day, and tonight I took a pic of the AT on the pic of AT. The AT has been unwound and with the hands at 10:10 since March the 10th!

Oh... btw... I was pleasantly surprised when Ritz Camera (where I bought the camera) offered the pay for all my prints in exchange for me allowing them to display my picture in their store!

btw, my freebe software is "adobe photoshop album starter kit" It let's me play with 25o pictures before they want some money. There are about 4 things I can do to manipulate my images:thumbsdow

Hey Chip, great pic as always!
Why don't you create a thread giving advices, a step by step to all of us here in order to teach the basics to advanced skills specially on how to achieve a better result specific on watch pics, also software advices for editting etc...?

Two reasons.
1. I really don't know how to use a camera. I only had it a week. My stuff is a lot of trial and error. Bought a book the other day for 19.99 on sale :chuckle: and I read it cover to cover. That tought me quite a bit about photography.

2. Tutorials... I already do that on my "home" forum.

But if you have questions... ask away. I am a "teacher" for a living so if there is anything you need to know I will do my best to explain to you.
My knowledge is yours to have.

I went there to print five samples in 8/10 and they wanted all five of them. They are going to blow the AquaTerra one (the one in the background in the first pic) to 24 by something.

I don't have a lot of free time right now, BUT I have been playing with my camera more already.
With Digital, there is no wasted shots & you see instant results.

What I don't have time for , is adding the "atmosphere" that you are giving your shots. ( Pepsi, candles, etc etc etc)

It was either get creative or stop taking pictures! All my pics started to look alike, since there are only that many angles from which you can photograph one watch! :banghead: :banghead:

I shot all those three with the camera in Aperture Priority mode.
If you want to get a shot that is in focus throughout the whole image, you want to shoot at a small aperture. (lens opening) A small aperture (high F-stop on the lens) means that you are not getting a lot of light so you have to have the shutter open for a long time.
For those shots I knew that I want a good depth of field, so Aperture Priority mode on a camera allows you to select the F stop while the camera's brain selects the correct exposure times.

The AT on AT and the two Ti watches were shot at f16, ISO200 (film/sensor sensivity) and the exposure was around 0.75 seconds I think.

The candle light shot, due to the lack of light, did not allow me a high f stop so I shot that at f8 (which reduced my depth of field... which is why I had to zoom out more) ISO 200 and 2 seconds exposure.

Your pics are just fine.
I took my first pic May 2005, and it was horrible. Up until a few weeks ago I was using a very old, ancient point and shoot.
In reality, a nice point and shoot is better for watch photography in many ways. ( vs. an expensive dSLR)
