My mother-in-law got me a watch box for my birthday. It's not a name brand one or anything, just a Wal-Mart equivalent. It holds five watches.

Just three more of them, and everybody will have a home. :-)
My dad gave me the Santos last year. He's had it since 1981. I haven't sized it to my wrist yet because I can't figure out how to remove the links.

I bought mine around 1980 with the money I got from selling a motorbike. I had one side of my bracelet break and they replaced it with a slightly different one. I think you will have to take it to a dealer to re-size.

I don't know if the warranty was the same over there, but my dad's came with a lifetime warranty. The only time he ever used the warranty was when he broke the bracelet while rock climbing. The Santos Automatic is Cartier's official rock climbing watch, isn't it? ;-)
They really have no way of telling who he is, so I doubt I'll have any trouble using the warranty. They might start to get suspicious when one of my nephew's kids brings it in for repair in 2114 or so. ;-)

Yes mine came with a Lifetime guarantee, it was like a small credit card. I don't know where mine is so it's not much use now. :banghead:
In the picture, the original bracelet half is on the left and the replacement on the right. The only difference is the number of small slots, where I think you use to remove the links.

Mine has the slots. I've tried sticking screwdrivers and other pointed object in them, but I haven't figured out the secret to releasing the links. http://www.rolexforums.com/images/icons/icon9.gif

Are you kidding. That's like telling someone not to touch the wet paint. If there's a button, you know Peter will push it.

Several years ago I went on a tour of a missile silo up in New England and... Well, remember that commercial airliner that crashed into the ocean, and they attributed it to gas pressure build-up in the central fuel tank? http://www.rolexforums.com/images/icons/icon9.gif
