Here is an interesteing watch i picked up on ebay, a seamaster in the ranchero case. Some semasters from the 1950's where made with the same movement and encased in the same case as the famous ranchero. This particular one seems to be in excellent condition , with its case never having been polished.. it does need an omega crown, as often the crowns were replaced during service and where reoplaced with generic ones.

seamasters i own 8, although will be down to 7 as i am selling the one i had advertised here on ebay, to get more funds for another purchase ;)

Very nice Mamas movement looks in excellent shape, nice find, the 284 a fine strong bullet proof movement,very interesting article.

Looks great Mamas, another good find.

If you don't mind me asking, what is the difference is case design? :thinking:

darren, the case in this semaster is different to the usual 1950's seamaster cases in shape.. as this ranchero case design is different in shape, with thinner lugs which are more continous and flush with the case
here is a typical 1950's case from my seamaster calender illustrating this, i actually prefer the thicker lug design in this type of case:
