Considering this watch, but can't decide whether with steel or orange leather? Have fairly tiny wrist, over 7 inch anyway. I haven't seen a single wrist-shot with leather, anyone post?

Also opinions would be welcome, should one buy from some webshop or add quite a bunch of $$ and buy from authorized dealer?

Hi Clogz,

Welcome to TRF.

First off, buy from an AD. The PO is a handsome watch, but personally I prefer it on its original steel bracelet. I've seen the black rubber strap and that looks good too. Honestly, the orange strap looks hideous.

If your wrist is over 7" then that's fairly large - mine's 7½" and I used to own a 45.5 mm PO which sat quite nicely on the wrist. You might want to try out the 42 mm size which is also fairly large.

Good luck - JJ:cheers:

Always buy on bracelet then add the strap later.
If you buy on strap, you save maybe 200 bucks over buying the watch with the bracelet.
If you decide to add the bracelet later, you are looking at around 600 dollars.
So buy with bracelet, then add all the straps you want later, as the web is full of shops that sell high quality leather straps.
Also, if it ever comes to a point where you have to sell, a watch on bracelet will fetch a much higher price and it will sell much much faster.

Chip is absolutely right!! Buy with original SS bracelet and, if you're lucky, and maybe push the AD hard enough, he might even throw in the original rubber strap for free!!

Welcome, clogz. Can't wait to see pics when you get it. I agree with Chip and JJ. Get the bracelet for sure. It is one of the nicest that I have ever had on a watch. You can always add a strap at a later date.

Hi clogz and welcome to TRF  JJ and Chip give you good advice. They both have owned one. Good luck with your acquisition and let us know how it works out for you.

This isn't a wrist shot but the best I can come up with.

Heheh, thanks for welcomes. Not meant to irritate anybody with pumpkin requests ;)

I think the bracelet-buy sounds most reasonable if the price goes like you told. Hadn't actually thought about it that way.

Maybe I have to find some AD now with PO's in so I can start to think over the size issue ;) 45,5 sounds quite a large but but...

And must say Paulie looks just as good on the orange leather strap.
Would work out cheaper to buy the bracelet option, because a bracelet to buy from AD would cost over £200 now in UK.

I agree with all the above. Not an Omega guy, but my AD told me that in Canada, the AD's cost for the orange leather Omega strap is CDN$700, so I don't want to think what they charge retail. Then you need to get the clasp too.

Look at the links section on this site. There's lots there that sell OEM quality straps and clasps at much more sane prices.

I've never seen an orange one in person but fron the pics it is kind of neat looking. I wonder if it's the official timepiece of the Netherlands World Cup soccer team? It does match pics that Frans posted. :chuckle: :chuckle:

Guys, guys, guys...

I think it only fair that someone should PM Ed in advance about this thread. If he opens it accidentally, he's sure to go into a coma and we would have lost the last honest lawyer left on planet Earth!!

You guys just did that to torture me, didn't you? Here I thought you were my friends. But noooooo. You lure me into this thread with an innocuous title about POs and leather straps. And as I scroll down, what pops up before me. Not one, not two, not even three hideous pics of that orange POS, but an entire flock of those god awful things. How can you do this to me? :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

All I can say is

!!!AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

Oh, I forgot to add. Welcome to TRF, Clogz. Glad you found your way over to our merry madhouse. Just because you started a thread that these other yo-yos took too far, I won't hold that against you. But please, next time you post a thread about PO's put up a warning that says NO PICTURES OF ORANGE POSs ALLOWED.

LoL  Started to wonder between older SMP 300 pro in black vs. this PO... there's quite huge price diff. and the black SMP just looks so cool. But is it too small...
