View Full Version : Timezone deletes links

Timezone deleted the link to this forum. Not surprising that they would do this. They promote themselves as tolerant of other sites and opinions but the reality is that they will delete anything that does not promote their own ends or disputes their 'moderators'. What do you expect from industry people with a desire to farm the herd? Sad, really.

Honestly, I started this website as a hobby. I love Rolex and saw a need for a quality forum. One that's software is user friendly and offers members more features. A clean looking Rolex forum was my goal.
Enjoy the website and tell a few friends.

I like Rolex but I'm not evangelical about their products like the principal posters on other forums are. Personally, I get tired of wading through such junk looking for information.
I'm glad to see a vBulletin forum. Timezone's forum software is appalling. Try searching. It's a joke. Plenty of other forums with the same problem. At least vBulletin works and is easily configurable (used to administer a vBulletin based forum).

VB is #1 when it comes to forum software. Other Rolex forums lack in this area big time and as a result this website will catch on quickly. Once the word is out .... Hold on.
Laager .... thanks for bringing this up. It is truly the reason I started Rolex Forums. I appreciate having you on "TRF's".

:bullshit:
Actually, that's not true at all. And you're right, you shouldn't be surprised that they deleted the link to this forum: Their guidelines state that you can't post links to sites that sell watches, and this site has a sales corner where watches can be listed for sale.
I have no affiliation with TZ at all, nor the watch industry. I've been posting there literally for years and have never experienced the type of censorship that people (mostly those who have been kicked off TZ, natch) seem to constantly complain about. In my experience people get their posts deleted for one or both of these very simple reasons: They refuse to follow forum guidelines and/or their posts are clearly designed to stir up trouble or disruption. I've been involved in some extremely heated arguments there, and have yet to be censored in any meaningful way. The only people who get shown the door there are those who ask for it.
Just my $.02, worth what you paid.

Their guidelines state that you can't post links to sites that sell watches, and this site has a sales corner where watches can be listed for sale.I guess it hasn't occured to you why that policy is in place. They do not want any competition. Commercial censorship.I've been involved in some extremely heated arguments there, and have yet to be censored in any meaningful way.Probably because as another evangelist you're useful in drumming up interest. Why kill off the spruikers; no matter how inane they may be? Why not simply stay where you can revel?

I think Mark passed on the ownership of the forum to Steve at some stage when there was a big dispute with some member/s and Mark had had enough.

whats this "vcr" you speak of?
A VCR (video cassette recorder) is a tape based electronic device for recording TV shows. People who cannot afford a DVR because they spend their money on Rolex - still use them :chuckle:

 I think I saw one on the Antiques Roadshow last week.... seriously though, I can remember my dad coming home with a betamax in the late 70's, it was like the aliens had just landed, it seemed so futuristic, oh and it was the size of a spaceship too.
