Thanks, Larry.....but I have just ONE nagging question.
Is that the actual colour of the steel, or are those pics making the steel look like Titanium?
I'm pretty sure that most of us would NOT like that Titanium colour at all. Steel is steel and should look as such.

Thanks JJ, I noticed the difference but couldn't quite figure out what to make of it. A bit odd considering Rolex does do very nice photos.

Probably has to do with the lighting Rolex uses.. I wouldn't expect any new metals, although they do use a heavier grain than other companies.

It's the shading they are using in order to de-smurf the blue.

Have to admit just one thing.....the BLACK actually looks better. Why couldn't Rolex get the correct shade of BLUE?

The black dial is stunning. The blue dial stinks.

i can't for the life of me see any reason to buy a sub instead of the gmt master unless you want a simpler watch. it's the same watch with 1 less complication. i guess if you like the blue that would be a little motivation but if i want a black tt i will just buy the tt gmt.

The blue TT looks worse than the superseded 16613.
The glossy black ceramic bezel is just pure class! Love to see it in person myself.

Blue and yellow gold do not match. Should be a no no.
It's not even like it's a nice blue either.

Not into that blue. Hate to say it, but some of the fake Asian subs that have been knocking around for years got the shade of blue right.
No reason for me to consider swapping out my GMTIIc.

Maybe because Im new, maybe because I just acquired a tt blue sub ( not this shade) but I think that blue is sweet and has a kind of pop to it.

Ahhh....but don't forget about the glidelock clasp on the new ceramic Sub. I believe that it is superior in function to anything else made by Rolex or any other manufacturer. The GMT IIC does not have the glidelock.

Black, all the way. Now, if only it were 3 mm bigger...

it doesn't need a glidelock clasp as it doesn't go over a wet suite or diving gear. it has a comfort link for when my wrist swells and it works wonderfully!!

My boss has the blue TT... the blue is actually not all that "punchy," so to speak. It's not all that subtle either. I'd say it's modest but noticeable.

I'm not sure I understand the point - exactly what makes the ceramic bezel better / worse than the old one?

I have a GMTIIc and thinking about getting the tt blue sub. I thought about waiting for
the new 2009 but the blue on 2009 does not look as good as the old one. Now I'm thinking
of getting the old version instead. To me the color is more important than the ceramic
bezel or the solid link. Wish I can have both.

Wt difference is there in the blue? I think it looks the same.

When I aquired my TT Bluesy, I had no interest in it's Black TT cousin at all.
Once I saw these two newest offerings, I'm all on board now with that "class act" Black Ceramic TT......
I Would like to see the new blue in person, but otherwise after seeing these great pics, I have no interest in the newest B L U E one at all.
Tho just my opinion....:bye:

You don't get a 120 click bezel on a GMT IIc if that's important.

I thought that the old Sub was 13mm thick, so is the new Sub 0.5mm thinner? But the above material shows the existing case as 12.17mm.
Anyway, I think the new black sub is cool. Never really liked the blue and still don't.

I'm looking to buy my first Rolex. My father worked with Comex Pro so has always work a Submariner on a Nato band and I cannot get the thing out of my head when looking for a new watch.
Any idea what the price will be in the US and if it's worth the trip Aruba?

Ouch $10,400 for the black ceramic tt. Better start collecting the pennies and hopefully by Christmas I'll be a new owner

I will always be on SS budget and really can't afford that!

I'm commenting on this because i'm a TT black sub owner, the new bezel for the TT black sub looks very crisp and robust it has a very mature look to it, the blue to my surprise grabs you when you see it in person, the smurf blue really does compliment the watch itself......I have tried both of them on and it if i could afford it i would attain both...

Me too! (On both points)
I personally do not like those big lugs / super-case enhancements, but both pieces, in thier own way, are beautiful. The W/G cobalt blue is my grail...maybe someday.

I am not digging the new case. Looks to me like Rolex forgot a machining step. I love the old blue. The blue always separated itself from its much more common black steel model. It was also more nautical and fit the Submariners theme. The new blue looks less demetional and flatter.
IMO the new Sub looks older than the current model its replacing.
My Serti Sub wasnt going anywhere anyway. After 12years of ownership and I still love the look over any other Rolex. :lv:

I picked up the TT black a couple of months ago, I ended up switching the band because it is out of proportion with the size of the watch. Until I find something I like better, I'll stick with the rubber dive band, Mike.
