There's just something special about vintage. The look, the history, these were the watches that gave Rolex It's special heritage.:thumbsup:
As a collector, I've centered my efforts on the sports models I grew up with, indeed a few of my watches I really did "grow up" with.:chuckle::chuckle:
For me it's hard to imagine a collection of vintage sport without these references;
The 5513,
Perhaps the iconic vintage diver. Not the most rarest of references, nevertheless the 5513 sets the mark. Possessed of a rich history, both in peace and war, the 5513 represents everything you need in a "tool watch".
MK III maxi, 6.04 mil

The 1680,
The first diver to have a date feature, the 1680 is my favorite vintage diver.:thumbsup:
With it's wonderful crystal, the 1680 makes a unique statement, and has always held a special place for me.
Whether RED, III/70 caseback,2.5 mil. non-hack.

It's a reference I will never be without.:dude:
The 1675,
My first Rolex and my sentamental favorite. This was the reference that started it all for me.
I'm fortunate to have a couple of them, but the wonderful GILT dial of a past era is just to beautiful for words.
I shutter to think how many of these dials were lost at service.:crying:
1.3 mil.
