Greetings... I am new to the forum. My wife just bought me a 1950's Oysterdate Precision manual wind for our anniversary. It's running about 5 minutes fast per hour. The case, etc are all in fine condition. Any thoughts on what could be causing this?

It could be any number of things... some that it may be are:

. a bump may have caused the hairspring to catch on either itself or the half bridge

. it may be magnetized

. the regulator may have slipped to the plus side

. parts of the escapement may be misaligned/damaged

all of them could be sorted out by a watchmaker in short order..
