Well my eagerly awaited package arrived today, and I was pleasently surprised. My vintage 6694 with black dial and gold detail is in fantastic condition. No srcatches on the case or bracelet, and just a tiny scratch on the mineral glass that will polish out.Needs a service as it doesn't run.Serial number and model numbers look like there hand done on the case (hope thats right) the serial number starts with 10 which makes it circa 1955.I've got a MOP dial in white,so might change the dial, that do you think stay as it is or go with the MOP.

SO SHOULD I PUT THIS DIAL ON,OR LEAVE IT AS IT IS

Leave it alone.

Let Dalton restore it.

He has mine right now.

I have an early 60's 6694, and in my opinion they look better with the darker dial (and gold indices). I recently picked up a 6426, I'm really enjoying these manual Rolex'!

I have a 6294 (1954). Honeycomb dial and roulette calendar. Runs like a champ and keeps excellent time. I love the watch and wear it a lot.

I would keep the black dial. A great look with the gold hands and markers. Looks like it is in excellent condition. Put on a new crystal and that dial will pop and look fantastic.

The bracelet looks to be newer generation than the watch. A riveted Oyster is correct for the year.

Great watch!. Get it tuned up and enjoy.
