Hi,
I'm thinking about trading a Rolex Sea Dweller M Series 2008 (not deep sea) and cash for a vintage Sea Dweller. Is this a good trade, and could someone let me know what a good price for a 1665 in good shape would be? You can e-mail price range. THANKS.

I don´t know the amount of cash we are talking about(+$4-5000?)...but in my opinion it should be a good trade....a 1665 kicks any new SD´s behind any day of the week :chuckle:

There are plenty of newer SD´s to go around for many years to come...but the 1665 gets fewer every year...so snatch one while you can...that´s all I can say about that!

Love my 1665.....can never imagine I´ll trade it for any watch!!!

A good price for a 1665 is quite hard to predict. Have seen crappy ones for both $6-9000 and really nice ones for $8-12000. It really depends on the percentage of original parts and provenance. We have some excellent experts here who surely can help out. In a day or two you´ll have plenty of advice.

Here´s a good place to start your learning:

That is a tough number to through out there, IMO it should be done on a case by case basis.

There's nothing like a 1665.......I think the prices quoted above are as good as any....

I really like the 1665, it is such a great looking watch with the domed plexiglass crystal :rokn: Great piece all round

I paid about £7500 for mine which is in very good original condition but lacks its original paperwork. I guess I might have paid a little over the odds but it's a stunning watch to look at (seem my last post here) and the value is only like to go up in years to come. Good luck in your search.

I just saw a 1665 in nice shape sell on EBAY for $8500. It did not have the box or papers. The box and papers are worth a lot. I just sold my 1655 orange hand for $16,000 on EBAY. I had all the original papers and box. There seems to be a big price range for the 1665. Like the others said, the prices range from $8000-$14,000 on average. The higher price ones are not selling though.
