I just wanted to show you my new acquisition, a 1980 Sea-Dweller ref 1665 :
http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/2696/16651s.jpg

I ve bought this piece this week end.
The watch has never been ppolished and gets a very interesting patina.
The dial is light tropical, and changes color from black to chocolate or havana.
The index are "mustard", and give a lot of charm.
We can see on this picture below the color of the dial :

Now it s time for the versus 1665/16600.

the 1665 caseback :

here for the comparation with the 16600 :

(the bracelet is a 93150 with 585 end links)

This watch is really fat, a fat case, a bigger plexi (here a service one), and a bigger bezel than the 16600 :

The escape valves :

Jason, congrats that is one of the best vintage tool watches ever

The aged dial gives it a great vintage look. :agree:

You can't go past the 1665 SeaDweller for a rock solid vintage watch.

Congratulations on a fantastic watch. I've had my 1665 for a couple of weeks now and have pretty much worn it every day. Despite it's size I still find it a very practical every day watch and much nicer to look at than the more recent SD's.

Beautiful watch, with lovely patina. Would it be impolite to ask how much you paid for it ?

Thank you for what you ve said about the watch.
but for the price I won t tell you.
I just can say it could cost a vintage daytona or more (16520 maybe) to get a 1665 with an unpolished case and a tropical dial(in France).
