im thinking a black dial since it goes well with black leather. Perfect for dark suits.

What do you need a review for? Just pull the trigger already. IWCs make absolutely stunning watches.

I own a 7 day Automatic, great timepiece and holds its value better compared to a lot of other brands

I just got mine today. I really love it. I'm so glad I finally bought it. I was choosing between this and a SS Daytona. I eventually chose the Portuguese 7 days since I already have an Omega Speedmaster and a Submariner LV which are both quite sporty. Everything about it is beautiful especially the caseback where you can see the movement.

Love my IWC, mine is only a MK XV, however, it has the most comfortable bracelet I've ever put on my wrist. My dad bought a MK XVI the same week I recieved my watch cause he liked the bracelet and watch so much. As said above, you really can't go wrong with an IWC. If you don't like it, send it to me and I'll wear it for a year just to make sure it keeps good time.

Its a lovely watch!
As a cheeky alternative (cos its always good to check out the alternatives, right?) have a little look at the Dornblueth et Sohne 99.2.

My friend at work has it and I handle it frequently. An amazing piece. The dial looks soooo big b/c no bezel esentially.

Be aware-
I have an IWC in for routine service - I sent it beginning of october... it is still not back yet, and they tell me that is normal...
Rolex service is MUCh quicker, and for this reason I do not favor IWC

Attached is my current favourite IWC... Its on my shortlist. I like the uniqueness of the blue dials and the white face contrasted with the goldy leather strap is all class... Not the 7 day but.

Just stumbled on this thread. Don't know if the OP has pulled the trigger yet, but to throw a curveball in, have you considered a Dornbluth? There's a long wait time on these, but thats because they're handmade by Dirk Dornbluth. Stunning watch, built by a master watchmaker and I think you'd possibly have change left over to buy yourself a beater or two. It will also be bespoke, to your specifications on finish. Having said that, the 7 day power reserve of the Portugeiser is mightily impressive.

I have a rose gold portuguese chrono w/ black dial. You only begin to appreciate the quality/robustness after wearing other brands....I didn't love IWC until I wore this watch for a few months. It gets way more wear now than any other piece. IWC all the way...
