Okay, I made a half-arsed attempt at getting some pictures of the new BP tonight......

First the requisite shots of the packaging:

Opening this will lead you one of the best wooden boxes I've ever seen - very nicely executed :thumbsup: :

Here I tried to capture the applied markers, which quite frankly are spectacular against the black face. Wearing this in the sun the faceted markers just sparkle :smokin: :

You know, I wasn't sure I liked it from the earlier pic you posted. But seeing a wrist shot, I have totally come around. That is one beautiful watch, Al. Must say Al even looks better on your wrist,love the dial with the part Romans.Great movement and a lot of history to Blancpain horology speaking.A fine presentation package,looks like bur walnut,that manufactures like Rolex should supply, at the prices they charge for watches.Right though there complete range, and not reserved for high priced precious stones/or metal ones.Wear it in good health Al love it,but still prefer your Glashütte.

Well Ed, I did say that the pic from the BP site does not do this watch justice. In fact, neither do my pics. It really is quite incredible in person. :thumbsup:

And regarding the Rollie, let's just say it had not graced my wrist in months and months, so I felt nothing but satisfaction getting rid of that millstone around my neck! :cheers:

I have to say this... the shots of Al's GO he's posted here are really, really outstanding. As good as it looks in the photos, when you see it in the flesh as I have, it's even more gorgeous! That said, I can't wait to see the whitebreak in person! :thumbsup:

The 6850 movement is based on the F. Piguet 1151, not ETA. And the question of "in-house or not" becomes complicated based on your interpretation of "in-house." Blancpain was "revived" by J. C. Biver and J. Piguet in the early 80's from what I've read, with Piguet having the controlling interest at 51%. Now both Blancpain and F. Piguet are owned by the Swatch Group. My impression is the relationship between Piguet and BP is quite close, with joint development on some calibres. I believe that the base 1151 has been used in other companies watches as well.
