if you have a rolex that only has on the 6 o'clock the Word "SWISS" not "SWISS MADE"
What is the diffrence??

The difference is the point in time the watch was made. Swiss, Swiss Made, T- Swiss -T, Swiss Made <25, etc. are all used during one time or another. The T shows tritium is used and <25 the level of radiation (Micro Curie, I don't know anymore?). For the rest there's no difference. There is a law that regulates if and when a watch may be called Swiss Made or Swiss.
Only when it is Swiss, may a watch carry the indications "Swiss made" or "Swiss", or any other expression containing the word "Swiss" or its translation, on the outside. According to Section 1a OSM, a watch is considered to be Swiss if:
* its movement is Swiss;
* its movement is cased up in Switzerland;
* and the manufacturer carries out the final inspection in Switzerland.
And a big welcome to this fantastic forum! :cheers: :thumbsup:

Hi JULIO,
Let me extend a very warm welcome toTRF.:cheers: :cheers:
As Franz stated, it's a bit tough to say with out a little more information.
Rolex has used various marking based on reference number or time frame.
"SWISS" could mean anything from an orginal vintage dial to a current replacement service dial. If you could post a pic of the watch or provide a reference number and approximate age we could narrow it down a bit.

Hi Julio and Sam,
A very big welcome to TRF.
Julion, the word SWISS was used on those models manufactured around 1999 to 2001....after which Rolex switched to the words SWISS MADE.
Post us a picture of your watch and give us a serial number. That way we can ascertain the exact manufacturing date of your watch.

Well, I think they started the SWISS MADE thing from 2000...not very sure, but I know that Rolex used only SWISS before they started on the SWISS MADE thing.

I like them both. The TT blue Sub is a beautiful watch but for me, the 40mm Plat/SS YM is the cat's meow. :clap:
