They had issues finding the real cause. I heard the whole story finally from a watchmaker who has a buddy watchmaker who works for Rolex/Tudor. It’s one of these crazy things where nothing seems wrong with any part, but assembled it still shows this error. But eventually they have found it. Can’t repeat the details, but it’s fixed for real.
Mine made the trip twice to Switzerland but the second time did it and it’s flawless since Feb/2020 so for nearly two years.
