The taupe is a very special dial, unique in color and has a very 'powerful' look to the overall package. I've had non watch friends, who usually never care about any watch a wear stop and ask for a closer look. And for these friends, that never occurs even on colored PM watches.

When the light hits the dial of this watch, there is something truly amazing that draws you into the dial. My understanding is that the gray comes off as more flat in texture even though both dials are textured the same way.

All of that said, I find the black bezel / bronze-ish color a bit hard to match on clothes. So I do think the gray dial has that going for it.

I'm trying to get the gray one as well. I don't think you can go wrong either way.
