Its approaching topped out I think. Brand new in 07 mine was about $1400. It was a nice watch with a classic look. I replaced mine with a sea dweller and had bought the 2254 as a temp substitution for a SD. In my case the SD was always the goal but I do like the 2254 although it appeared "fancy" compared to the sea dweller. I prefer the more tool look.
Bottom line buy it if you like it don't speculate on watch prices.
