i asked my AD about this (requesting a specific serial series; specifically i wanted an M version of a particular watch when i knew they were shipping both Ms and Zs). they called the rep, and were told rolex sent them out in order, and wouldnt take requests. in other words, you get what you get.
they ended up sending an M serial, so they werent making excuses. fyi for what its worth.
