Despite having been in the same situation of choosing my first Rolex, a Steel Everose Yachtmaster II - which I chose over a GMT (or daytona), like yourself.
The GMT is a classic.... Any collection just needs one. So much so that I just need one myself too...
IMHO it is 'THE' GMT king of all other dual time watches....
Looking back I may have wore the GMT much more than my Yachtmaster II which does draw lots of attention.
