Hi C.S.

With a watch like your father's Seiko it's not really a case of if it's worth it to repair/overhaul but what is the watch worth to you from a sentimental point of view.
I've recently had my grandfather's Unicorn Amphibian restored, my '70's Seiko diver restored and I've just put in my very first watch (a small swiss manual with ST96 movement) for overhaul.
They all reside proudly in my watch box next to my Omega, Rolex and others.
They all cost more that they were worth to repair but I am glad I repaired them as they have history.
Hope this helps.
