Not surprised in the least.

Physics class says one can happily jump from a 10m tower with a 100+m rated watch. You enter the water at around 15m/s and a 100m rated watch will handle dynamic pressure up to speeds of around 45m/s (and your 300m rated 14060M up to speeds of nearly 80m/s). Plenty of safety margin.

And yes, it is a myth that jumping from the edge of a pool, from a 1m board, or splashing will cause problems for a water resistant watch.
