Try finding something second hand that has maybe recently been discontinued. This may hold the value for you and as time passes may increase in value.

I would suggest looking for something that you could use in your daily life. I used to travel a bit and a GMT was very handy. But now I'm at home more I find it surprising how handy an elapsed time facility is on a daily basis, plus I swim a lot with my kids and therefore I wear a submariner quite a bit.

Alternatively, just something based on style and how you might dress.

With 6k, that's still a lot of watch and a lot if choice.

Don't hesitate to visit your local dealer and try them on.

Most if all, have fun picking a watch.
