Many companies advertise their top models, they are promoting the brand more than trying to sell that particular model. Car ads are the worse offenders, they will show one of their top model cars but the price on screen is for their base model, with maybe a disclaimer at the bottom of the screen saying the model being advertised is not the one shown.
