Assuming this statement is correct, does the far higher level of finishing on a PP make it run more accurately, make it more durable, increase the life of the movement parts, decrease the need for periodic servicing, etc? I am curious if any or all are true, or if it simply adds substantially to the cost of a PP due to more time involved with hand finishing.
