Sounds to me like you made the right decision for you.
Personally, I feel that the AP rhymes and steals over the FF Sport (peerless finishing, mesmerizing dial, rocks one of the best contemporary automatic movements under the hood, looks amazing on rubber or steel, it's an AP...), but there's little use arguing against the merits of the Blancpain.
