Polishing A Nautilus

Can you tell casually that the bezel edges are not as sharp after a polish (by Patek)?

Will polishing decrease resale value and should you pass or negotiate for a lower price if you know a full bracelet Nautilus has been polished?

A nautilus should NEVER be polished. Period.

Even by PP. There is no scenario in which you cannot tell it was.

Only scenario is if metal is added by laser to make-up for lost metal in polishing process but I understand Patek refuses to do that anymore

Patek does this, but it depends on the extent of the case damage. I was informed of this during a factory visit.

I do agree with everyone who prefers not to polish.

But if trying to purchase used, especially from an individual and not an established gray dealer, is it a big red flag if the seller refuses to give a straight answer about the servicing history or even a yes or no as to whether the watch has been polished (perhaps arguing the watch is not his and just reselling for a "client"). Is it similarly a red flag if a seller refuses to meet at the Patek service center, unless it's an established store selling?

PP aquanaunt case is only parts.......mid and back the bezel is part of the mid case and cannot be replaced unless the entire mid case is..........not a big deal ser # is on the back not mid

If a ding is filled by adding metal you'll still need to polish the watch I think. I might rather get a new bezel in case of a major mishap which isn't crazy expensive as long as we are talking steel. But even that may look ever so slightly different from the rest of the watch.

Is it a reality, though, that a genuinely unpolished steel Nautilus in a discontinued model might be very difficult to find unless it was only recently discontinued? And even then, there is little market premium for unpolished with typical scratches versus polished well by Patek (or polished well + not being transparent about it)?
