The Hateful Eight

Has anyone else seen this movie yet? Long movie, and the beginning was a little slow, but the second half was great I thought.

Haven't seen it yet but being a Quentin Tarrantino movie I'm sure I will. Love all his films. Seems like he has a thing for westerns now? He's the ony one I know of that's even producing them anymore and it's cool that he's keeping the genre' alive, IMO!

I'll see it when it is free on HBO. I don't feel like giving him any support at the moment. I hope he learns that some people still value our police officers' safety.

Huge fan of his work. Hateful 8 is probably my least favorite of his recent films.

If he was going to say something he could have used his podium for good, but he showed his assness instead.

Okay, I guess I missed something here (not the first time that's happened). Did he speak out against officer safety? If so, I will NOT see it and will probably discard my QT dvd's.

I just googled it. Guess I missed it on the news. I've been in a "news off" mode for a while. It was starting to get to me. So, anyway, I will NOT be seeing this movie and I will toss those dvd's.

While I've enjoyed some of his other films, I'm passing on QT for a while. I'll watch Star Wars instead.

Star Wars disapoints, and although Hateful Eight was entertaining theres a scene where the gang enters the Haberdashery and Minnie seems to be scowling at them sizing up the trouble they bring in their wake.. but then the next scene her demeanor is reversed and seems blissfully unaware and a perfect hostess.

i'll rewatch when directors cut is released.

Being in the L.E. profession, it's nice to see the support on here. I was a fan of his but will not watch anymore of his movies unless he makes a public statement showing a change of opinion.

i liked some of his early work but it has become grating. his comments about leo was unfortunate. one of the toughest jobs for a person to execute imo.

I wouldn't call QT a genius film maker. He has a genre that he excels in, but is incompetent outside his niche.

His latest leap on to the bandwagon of the moment will preclude me from seeing any of his work in the foreseeable future.

I plan on seeing it when it comes here (Jan 7th). I'm a sucker for a modern western and a generally like QT films. I have some issues with some of his story telling, but all in all I think he does a great job and the character development is always top notch. It's shot in 70mm Panavision, so it should look great too.

For those that refuse to support him due to what was said, you can always grab a torrent of it for free.
