Date change before midnight

http://s1266.photobucket.com/albums/...xplorerChris/?

My Explorer II date wheel gas been changing over at a couple of minutes past midnight since I got it.

I was at Rolex Canada yesterday getting a new set of hands put on as the old ones had no lume left to see in the dark.
When I got my watch back I was told the technician had noticed my watch was loosing a bit of time and and made an adjustment.
Since that adjustment I have noticed that the date changes over a couple of minutes before midnight now instead of after midnight.

If I recall correctly the date should be changing prior to midnight so I think all is good.
Can anyone confirm so I can get some sleep???

A couple of minutes either side of midnight is perfectly ok, and normal.
Enjoy your watch!

Thanks I thought that was the case but it's always nice to get some expert advice. All is right with the world again.

When the date changes (visually) is a function of where the watchmaker puts the hands on. It would be physically impossible for the watchmaker to put the hands back on in exactly the same place they were originally, so everything went as usual with a hand change.

As mentioned, the date change is mechanical and takes place (visually) within a couple of minutes either side of 12 if the watchmaker did a good job.

Thanks so much for the info I'm glad allis normal
I love my Explorer II and have made 2 trips to the Rolex Canada office so far.
Crystal replacement $280 plus tax
Hand replacement $195 plus tax
The only other thing id like replaced is the bezel at $290 then I'm good
